During this project Carlin Val (Expedition Leader) talked at local high school assemblies throughout Grey and Bruce promoting Mental Health and the expedition. The main theme of the talks was focused on the transition from high school to what ever came next...... emphasizing on proactive measures to stay physically and mentally healthy.
Denali At Last Project Climb for Canadian Mental Health
Mission: Our mission is to Climb Denali with the highest degree of respect for the mountain, and most importantly our safety. The Summit is our goal, but the whole experience is what we can’t wait for. Vision: Our vision is to use this expedition as a vessel to spread our message. We want to reach out to people all over Canada and make them understand that mental illness is a disease, and that preventative mental and physical care is crucial to a healthy body and mind. Project Description: Denali At Last has teamed up with the Canadian Mental Health Association to spread our message to people all over Canada. We have begun to plan fundraiser events, public talks, media coverage and much more in order to achieve our vision. At Last Adventures has donated a page on their site completely devoted to this project, listing links to similar projects, and more importantly links to help lines. The Team: Carlin Val (Expedition Leader), Dane Kress, Ryan Strohmaier, Tyler Adams and Dave Shepherd.
Thank you to all of our Sponsors and the Canadian Mental Health Association for helping get this project off the ground.
